An American in Paris

Dear All,

I guess a lot of you might have seen this classic or at least heard about during some trivia games. The actress in the vintage photograph, who is doing an exercise (Apanasana Pose), which might look familiar to all those, who join my classes, is Nina Foch, a Dutch-born American actress (1924 – 2008). She joined Gene Kelly in the musical ‘An American in Paris’ 1951. The image above was produced by Columbia Pictures in 1947 to promote another movie she starred in, titled ‘ The guilt of Janet Ames’.

See below the original text slip attached to the back of the photograph, which was send out as press release for publication to magazines and newspapers.

Ms. Foch was featured in more than 80 films and hundreds of television shows and worked from 1943 until 2007.

Hope this motivates…Happy weekend!

Namaste, RoxAnn

  1. Ms. Foch knows her stuff and so does Ms. Roxi! Thanks for sharing RoxAnn! (If she had a teacher as good as you she’d be holding the back of her thigh, lol).
